Prayer Opens Door for Witness to a Satanist

The most memorable moment that I have been a part of in a chat room was on a night that had been filled with interruptions and net splits. That makes for a frustrating experience. On this particular night, a person claiming to be a satanist kept coming to the channel and trying to stir up trouble.

One of the operators of the channel asked me to go to a private chat and pray. We began to pray that this person would either stop harassing the channel or would find Jesus. The prayer was very intense and specific. We prayed for about 30 minutes and the person continued to come in and out of the channel.

The next time the person came on, he didn't harass, but watched the discussion in the channel. He then asked for someone to talk to him privately and my friend and I both went to talk to him. He began to ask some really deep questions. The Holy Spirit was at work. My friend and I knew that this was not because of our power, but the power of God. He was answering our prayer before our very eyes.

We continued to witness to this man. We didn't see the harvest that night, but we saw the seeds planted. He acknowledged that he was following the wrong path in his life and that he wanted to find peace. We prayed for him to find the Lord, but he wasn't ready yet.

I have often wondered where he is and what he did with Jesus after that. It is my prayer that he accepted Christ, but I don't know. I only know that we witnessed to him as the Holy Spirit led us. We have to trust that the rest is up to the Lord.
